This is an average-sized primary school. The large majority of pupils are from minority ethnic groups and speak English as an additional language. The proportion of pupils who are eligible for the pupil premium is above average. There is a part-time nursery and two full-time Reception classes, one of which also accommodates a few
Year 1 pupils. The nursery is managed by the IEB.
Pupil mobility is much higher than normal and many pupils leave and join throughout the school year. In 2015, the school did not meet the government's current floor standards, which set the minimum
expectations for pupils' progress and attainment in English and mathematics.
Arrangements have been made for the school to form a multi-academy trust with St John's Primary
School. The executive headteacher leads both schools.
