About the Role

A vacancy has arisen to join our busy team at Harbour Primary & Nursery School as a Caretaker Level 3.

Harbour Primary is a large School with beautiful extended buildings and modern, fresh facilities including a lovely ICT Media Suite, Radio Room, large open activity areas and lots of outside space including two playgrounds, a field and a recently developed garden area. We have 515 children currently on role aged 2 to 11. We are committed to providing rich experiences and opportunities both inside and outside the classroom for all our children.

We are seeking someone able to work on their own initiative and as part of a team to maintain a clean and safe site.  The role is varied, covering all aspects of caretaking from regular inspections and paperwork to maintenance and cleaning tasks.  An understanding of the main Health & Safety Regulations including COSHH along with experience of carrying out building maintenance work would be an advantage. There is a team of 4 cleaners and an Assistant Caretaker to support the successful candidate.

The working pattern is 7:00am to 4:00pm Monday to Thursday and 7:00am – 3:30pm on Friday, 52 weeks per year with 5 weeks paid leave to be taken during school holidays. There is a one and a half hour unpaid lunch break every day at a time to be agreed with the successful candidate.
