DSPL4 Primary Outreach / Learning Support Worker
We are looking to appoint two motivated, enthusiastic and committed people to join our team as DSPL4 Primary Outreach / Learning Support Workers, in mainstream primary schools.
Rivers Education Support Centre provides educational programmes to support pupils who are at serious risk of permanent exclusion or who have been permanently excluded from their mainstream school.

At KS3 the focus of centre work is to re-engage the pupils with their learning and reintegrate them into a mainstream school setting. The outreach team works closely with all primary and secondary schools in supporting pupils who are experiencing emotional, social, behaviour challenges that are impacting on their school success.
At KS4 pupils are provided with an alternative provision where it is acknowledged that a mainstream setting is not meeting their needs. Pupils are offered a wide variety of opportunities for accreditation, including GCSE courses, OCR, City and Guilds, BTEC. Rivers success is built upon strong partnerships with schools and other services and most importantly, with young people and their parents and carers
The successful candidates will have experience as a Teaching Assistant or experience of working with children with additional educational needs and will support students in a full range of subjects, including B4S (Behaviour for Success). You will possess excellent communication and proven organisational skills and be approachable, calm and positive. You should be a team player, who is also able to work on your own initiative.

The position will be for 37 hours per week, full time. The salary will be H5.
